The invasive flora species have a strong dispersion ability, being very competitive and able to put at risk the biodiversity of ecosystems in which they are present.<\/p>\n

It is the case of Ribeira do Fund\u00e3o (stream), a \ud835\ude29\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude23\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude35 that was highly rundown and where the Ironclad Beetle lives, endemic to the island of Flores.<\/p>\n

The Government of the Azores has started a great effort to recover these \ud835\ude29\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude23\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude35 through invasive flora removal actions, such as this example carried out by the LIFE BEETLES project, with very positive results, as demonstrated with this intervention.<\/p>\n
