In December, the LIFE BEETLES project was present at the Advisory Boards of the Terceira and Pico Islands Nature Parks. This participation was an opportunity to present the main results obtained throughout the project to the councillors.<\/p>\n

On Terceira island, the achievement of the goal of planting 10,000 native and endemic trees in the Furnas do Enxofre eucalyptus forest was highlighted, as well as the removal of around 9,000 eucalyptus trees, allowing the development of the undergrowth in the Algar do Carv\u00e3o eucalyptus forest.<\/p>\n

On the island of Pico, good practices in the early control of invasive species, particularly Kahili Ginger, in the most pristine areas, as well as the planting of around 11,500 endemic trees in Lagoa do Caiado, stood out.<\/p>\n

Participation in these annual meetings is an excellent strategy for involving stakeholders in the project and for stimulating discussion and the exchange of ideas and concerns, which can contribute to the dissemination, integration, and resolution of operational problems during the project’s implementation.<\/p>\n
