The directive 92\/43\/CEE, commonly known as Habitats Directive, is designed for the preservation of the natural habitats (terrestrial and marine) of the wild flora and fauna (terrestrial and marine) that are considered threatened, rare or vulnerable and it complements the European Community legislation Birds Directive. It foresees the creation of a network of Special Areas of conservation (SACs).<\/p>\n

\u00bb Prevention and management of the introduction and spread of Invasive Alien Species<\/h4>\n

This regulation establishes the rules to prevent, minimize and mitigate the adverse impacts of the introduction and spread, intentional or not, of invasive alien species on the biodiversity in the European Union.<\/p>\n
